Pancreatic enzyme supplementation improves the incretin hormone response and attenuates postprandial glycemia in adolescents with cystic fibrosis: a randomized crossover trial
Pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) reduced postprandial hyperglycemia and slowed gastric emptying in CF subjects. It also normalized GLP-1 and GIP secretion. PERT did not affect insulin or plasma blood glucose or insulin levels. The study was a double-blinded, crossover trial.
