Pista House Haleem and learnings for Healthcare professionals

As the month of Ramadan is nearing, the one delicacy which Hyderabad awaits is Haleem and food lovers will at least eat Pista house Haleem. Mr. Majeed started a bakery business from the textile business as he felt that the food business is evergreen. He felt that the tasty and healthy Haleem which is served at few places has to be experienced and exposed to the people of Hyderabad. He never compromised with the quality of ingredients and the process of making. Iterated multiple times to get the perfect ratio of all ingredients. Listened to multiple customers for optimizing the taste and blend. Partnered with India post and later with Gati to deliver to other places within the country and abroad. Brought changes in packaging and content to export it to other countries. Played an important role to get certification of Geographical Indicator for Hyderabadi Haleem so that if any one sells by the name of Hyderabadi Haleem it has to meet with the laid down standards.

Now they have More than 200 stalls and daily about 40,000 kilograms of Haleem only in Hyderabad. 

 

Learnings for the Healthcare industry:

 

  • Like the food business, the healthcare industry is evergreen.
  • It is available mainly in Ramadan month- scarcity and exclusivity drives business in this month. Can appointments per day be fixed? Exclusivity and temporary scarcity can be created by allowing only pre booked appointments for OPD consultations.
  • Never compromise in quality- quality of all healthcare delivery aspects including waiting time, supporting staff behavior and parameters of quality should be the best.
  • Listening to the customers - Our patients and their attendants will give feedback to improve our healthcare delivery system.
  • Iterating to get the perfect taste: Can we change the way we offer our services like adding teleconsultations, answering to their emails etc. to get the perfect blend of patient centric care delivery.
  • Partnering and scaling the business with GATI etc.: Once services are stabilized and a good healthcare delivery model is established- how can we plan to scale the healthcare delivery to the untapped market?
  • GI Certification for Hyderabadi Haleem: Overall promoting the business of the brand so that branding of the Hyderabad Haleem if grows exponentially the pista house can have its pie of share. The healthcare industry of a place can promote as a group a brand with unique features of healthcare delivery so that they can create buzz and awareness in the other places and attract the customers.
